As with any big luxury fashion house, Moncler are seeing that a lot of fake goods branded with their logo are floating about. The winter wear specialists are going through something that a lot of others go through, as it’s only natural that people would want to get their hands on products which others think are expensive, when they were bought at a fraction of the price (down to the fact that they have nothing to do with the actual people who design them). Moncler have filed a myriad of UDRPs – uniform domain name resolution policies – in order to catch out those who are using domains with “Moncler” in them, in an attempt to trick some potential customers from buying from a place that they think is selling real Moncler, but it turns out to be a counterfeit instead. It happens a lot – and there’s no need to underplay it – but they’ve decided to come forward to explain why they have to do so now.
An official statement from Moncler states: “Moncler is waging a battle against the rampant phenomenon of counterfeiting. It is on the front line in the battle to defend the authenticity of its brand and its identity, and to protect the consumer.” It shows that their intension is simply to look out for the interest of their customers and that they want to distance themselves (as much as they can) apart from those who try to profit off knock-off versions of their high-quality products. It’s natural that they’ve decided to go to the effort of shed light on the effort that they’re going to, in order to stop people from buying from the fakes, but it might be a difficult one for them to completely keep on top of.

Would you ever decide to buy from someone if they were upfront about them selling something that looked essentially as though it was an authentic Moncler product, but it simply wasn’t?
